I think I've figured out why I post about John Mayer (and lately the Suns) so much. It's because when I am on the computer at home, I am listening to John Mayer. And lately, I have been looking at pics and reading articles about the Suns. It's all that's on my mind when I am sitting here. Plus, it makes me happy.
Music. Basketball. Joy.
Speaking of making me happy... I have a mission for myself and the rest of you (all 6 or 7 of you that ready this - and I appreciate each and every one of you. I mean it!). On the back page of Domino magazine, they have a designer person who lists 10 things that make them happy. And by things, they really mean things. Objects. Specific items. Not just shoes, but a specific pair. I am going to work on my list this weekend. And I will photo blog my list once I compile it. I challenge you all to do the same. Get your camera and take a picture of 10 things that make you happy. And shoot me the linkage...

enough with the Suns already...
I love these pictures so much. Sorry I keep posting them. But they make me happy. I love the Suns and I love when they win.
And this is for my mother:
(oh hell, its for me too.)
100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 41
I have a myspace. I signed up to make John Mayer my friend. Sick. Yes.
However, lately I have been searching for people and have found bunches of fools I used to know. I resisted for a long time adding any other friends. I like that John Mayer was my one and only... friend. But today, I broke down and started adding friends. I only have a few right now, but I have bunch of requests out there, so I should have more friends soon. That whole crappy friend thing got me down. Truth hurts. So I figured I am a good communicator on this damn computer, so I can reconnect with some randoms this way.

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 39
I am a really crappy friend. I don't keep in touch with people at all. I have people here who I consider my friends, but I haven't called them in... years. Yes, years. I suck at being a friend.

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36
Since I haven't been keeping up on these facts, my mom asked me if I needed help thinking of things. That's not really why I haven't posted any, but I let her help anyway.
30. I got my first tooth when I was 3 months old. Apparently that's early to get teeth.
31. I have had 6 broken bones. Leg (2 1/2 yrs old), arm (kindergarten), arm (1st grade), arm (2nd grade), arm (3rd grade), arm (8th grade). These are not including sprains. I had too many of those to count. My family used to tell me I was accident prone. After my 2nd to last broken arm, my orthopedist told me if I broke another bone, he would put me in a full body cast. I guess it scared me so much, that I didn't break another bone for 5 years.
32. My right thigh falls asleep randomly and all the time. I think it has something to do with my broken leg a million years ago. I have gone to the doctor about this and they couldn't figure it out. I just deal with it.
33. I suffer from migraines. It's in my family. In fact, I woke up with one yesterday. Joyful.
34. I think my hair is my security blanket. I like it long. People (aka my mother) wants me to have it short, but I can't do it. I have cut it a few times to where it was right at my chin, but I had less chins then. I love my hair and can't cut it. I will be one of those old ladies with really long hair in a bun.
35. I watch QVC. I not only watch it, I frequently shop too. I have been trying, of late, to get my QVC spending under control. It's just so damn easy and convenient.
36. I wear 2 rings all the time. One on my left ring finger (duh) and one on my right ring finger. I regularly wear other rings, but they come off when I am at home. The ones on my ring fingers never come off. My wedding ring has only been off one time in 7 and a half years and that was purely by accident. I am one of those who never takes their wedding ring off. The time I did, I freaked out. I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize it was off for a few hours. I had my husband put it back on me and it hasn't been off since. The right hand ring is the promise ring my boy gave me about a year before we got married. I have taken that off a few times and I am not as strict with the removal of that one. I just don't take it off mainly because it is tight and doesn't come off without a lot of effort. One day, it will probably have to be cut off my finger.

Chris sent me this. Click anywhere on the face and go...
Be sure to move the mouse around and click other boxes. It keeps going and going and going and going. It's awesome.
You could seriously do this for hours...

where have I been?
Around...
I just really haven't felt like blogging.
Maybe it's because no one comments, so it seems like no one looks at it. So I have no motivation to blog. Is it merely entertainment for my mother and sister? I like amusing them, but sometimes I need a break from that. Plus, I am still not 100% feeling the new layout, but don't have the desire to change it. Whatever. I have heatstroke. Not really, but the heat has zapped all my energy. I will get caught up on my facts and post a bunch of stuff in the next couple days.
In the mean time, check out the new Dixie Chicks album. I've been listening to it tonight and really like it. Don't get the idea that I like country music, because I really don't. I just like bits and pieces. If you don't want to listen to the whole album, try just these couple:
Not Ready to Make Nice
Lullaby

what is it about wentworth?
Even in that crazy hat, he's hot as hell.
Here looks like a good place to make my comments on the Prison Break finale. It was great. It was so worth it. They stretched that break out out so much that you almost got tired of hearing about it. But it happened. And they are on the run. I am so angry that the plane took off without them. It will be interesting to see if they stay together or split up. And, now that Veronica has the evidence of Lincoln's innocence, will it make a difference? He still escaped and will get punished for that. Bad move on his part. He would have been free and clear.
my Les Miz review
In a word - Great.
My seat was on the far left (if you are looking at the stage) and on the aisle. It was nice to be on the aisle, because I was not crammed randomly in the middle of people. I did loose part of the stage being so far to the left, but it really wasn't much. I was able to follow along, but still notice other things, because I know the story well and I knew all the music. Not word for word like I do with some shows (*cough*RENT*cough*), but I have heard it all before. The production was good. I had forgotten about the rotating floor. That was effective, but sometimes distracting. But that might have been because I was so close and could see it clearly. And speaking of distracting, I thought that being able to see the wings of the stage would be, but it really wasn't. They do a really great job keeping it hidden and dark.
The dude who was Jean Valjean was incredible. When he sung, Bring Him Home, I got chills all over. The applause afterward was twice as long as any other. He never faltered on the high notes. He held them long and strong. The actor was in the final Broadway cast, playing the same character, in 2003. I was very lucky to get to see him play Jean Valjean.
I cried during On My Own, but that's no surprise. I sung that song in a choir concert when I was in junior high. That song is near and dear to my heart.
I am glad I went.

getting ready!
My clothes are laid out. I have chosen a purse. I just finished straightening my hair and painting my nails.
What's tonight?
I am trying to be excited. That's what I have been doing all this prep work. I am looking forward to it. But I have been in a really bad mood for a day or so and I just can't shake the anger. Usually I can 'Turn that frown upside down' (a la Lionel Playworld), but I can't with this. I think it's because I am truly upset. It's family drama and I decided this public forum is clearly not the place to air it. I will force myself to enjoy the show.
And getting ready helps.

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 25
In grade school, when we were asked what we wanted to be when we grow up, I would answer, "Me."

Today, it seems, I am getting a lot of random things posted...
I did want to share about our day yesterday. We got up early (for us) and went to Home Depot. We bought the entire store. Or at least what would fit in the back of the truck in two trips. Lawn stuff mainly. We took full advantage of our new haul capcity. We also hit two differnt Home Depots to get all that we needed. When we got home, Chris did some digging and made a base around the big tree in our backyard. He then laid down mulch around the base. This is a step in the right direction for the landscaping we are planning on doing. We still need to get the bricks to build the planter around the trees, but he got started and that's a good thing.
We also bought a new ceiling fan for our bedroom. The one we had in there was u-g-l-y and was making a lot of noise. This is our new beautiful fan:
What's missing from it, you may be asking yourself. Pull chains - be damned! It's freakin remote control. It is so beautiful. I can't stop saying that. It sounds crazy to be so happy about a fan, but it really transforms the bedroom. It was like the missing link.

Also, I forgot to mention he was on Conan on Thursday night. Conan was in Chicago with his show and Johnny came and sung Sweet Home Chicago. Way cute. Tight pants.

random loose ends
With a 7 day forecast like this,
it's a damn good thing the guy came and fixed our air conditioner today. We thought it was fixed a month or so ago, but when we turned it on last week, it wasn't blowing cold air. Anyway, its fixed now and we didn't have to pay any more (since it was supposedly "fixed" before). Hopefully the "fixing" that has taken place will lower our electric bill. Those of you who complain about high heating costs in the summer... We get the flip side of that here.
I just noticed that according to that forecast, next Wednesday is going to be the coldest day in Phoenix EVER. hehehe
I am sick. I have been congested for a few days now and have been blowing my nose raw. Today it's dropped down into my throat. I have been coughing like crazy. And I have not been sleeping well because of it. It was so hard for me to talk at work. I was lucky today was my half day, because it hurts so bad that I could not have made it thru a full day. I can function with the sickness. But it's just another crappy thing that just adds to the crappy life right now.
Chris went to the doctor yesterday. He has been in such pain since the accident that I forced him to go. If I hadn't made the appointment, he never would have gone. He has been going to work as much as he can. He still has trouble sitting for long periods of time. The doctor gave him Vicodin, but Chris seems to think that it doesn't work on him. Last night, he took 2 at around 8:30pm and he was still awake when I went to bed around 11:00pm. It should have knocked him out cold. That's why he wanted to pain meds so that he could get some sleep. The doctor also sent him for an xray to rule out anything being broken. He went for that this morning. The doctor should have the results today, hopefully. The bruises on his chest are nasty, but are getting better. Oh and get this, the lady that caused the accident hasn't even called her insurance company yet. The claim was filed on her policy by our insurance and we have been in contact with them already. But they have been trying to get in contact with her and have not been able to. They called the other day to say they haven't heard from her at all. Such crap. Chris thinks she might be trying to contest the ticket. But the witness told the police the same thing Chris said happened, so there is no way it can be disputed. And I forgot to mention this... The officer told us that she told her the same story (the true story) first and then tired to change her story. Not good. I say, if you're gonna lie, lie first. hehe. It's just frustrating because we are going to have to submit to her insurance all these medical bills and a claim for pain and suffering and lost wages and they will not be able to pay out on them until they have contact with the lady. Hopefully this won't drag on. If it does, my cousin's husband is a personal injury attorney. I don't want to go that route, but if we have to it's good to know that you have family who will help you out.
Suns lost bad last night. Boo Hiss. What was up boys? Come on!!!

and lets all hope that it goes further than that...
My parents are out of town on a cruise. Good for them. However, my life is in shambles right now and when I hear from my mom, she just tells me how great the cruise is. She tells me how great the room is. All the cool things they are seeing. I love that they are having such a good time and that everything is great. I truly do. But its really hard to hear. They will not be back until Monday. I think them being gone is adding to my life in chaos. I am so used to talking to my mother every day, sometimes a couple of times a day. I like order and routine. Change is not good for me. I need her to come home to get my life back on track a little.
On my next paycheck, I am getting a bonus. SWEET! I was just told today that they are giving all of us that have been doing the "loan-in" thing since October (the thing that was only supposed to last 6-8 weeks that turned into 6-8 months) a bonus. Not everyone is getting the same amount, but we all are getting it. The boss said it was the least they could do and I agree. It should be more seeing as we have been doing a higher paying job at our regular salaries. But whatever. I am over it. One more month for me and I will back in my normal position. Thank God there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
Les Miserables - ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! The ticket came yesterday. I am so excited!!

I also collect Precious Moments. I have no idea how many I actually have. The first one I got was for my First Communion. I get one every Christmas, usually. And there was a Precious Moment figure on top of our wedding cake. Ahhhhhhhhh.
Over-the-Rhine
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has put out a list of 11 Most Endangered Historic Places in America. The Over-the-Rhine neighborhood in Cincinnati is on that list. I agree completely. As most of you know, I used to live in Cincinnati and I would travel by bus to work downtown thru Over-the-Rhine every day. I saw all that they are talking about. Drug dealers, crime, poverty. I saw some of the worst scenes in my life just traveling on the bus. I have seen drug deals go down. I have seen someone stabbed and laying on the sidewalk. I have seen riots. In April of 2001, there were riots in Cincinnati. It was such a scary time to live there. I remember one scene where the bus was coming around a corner and I saw a young kid climbing out of a barricaded door of a small convenience store. The plywood sheet that was covering the door was torn open and he came out with items in his hands. The bus stopped right near there and that kid got on the bus. He had just robbed that store. There were dumpsters on fire everywhere. The entire city was under curfew for days. Many people in Cincinnati don't think about Over-the-Rhine. They consider it a lost cause. But I think that there is too much history in Over-the-Rhine to just let it go. After the riots, a community group came into the neighborhood and put window flower boxes in as many windows of buildings as they could. It was such a strange site. These old buildings, falling apart. Look down at the street and you see the usual scenes. Look up a story or two and you see these beautiful flowers in the windows. It was something so simple, but it made such a huge impact. Over-the-Rhine holds a special place in my heart. I wish there was something that I could do to help. I am getting nostalgic for the 'Nati...

we got a truck!
Last night, we took the insurance money and used it as a down payment on this bad boy:
2002 FORD F150 SUPERCREW
Click it to view more pictures.
I love it. I was scared to drive it, but I drove it around the neighborhood and to Walgreens tonight and I am not as scared as I thought. Backing and changing lanes suck, but I'll get used to it. Chris is still undecided on it. Not because he doesn't like his new manly truck, but because its difficult for him to sit down for long periods of time. He will like it more once he feels better.

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 19, 20
I really suck at keeping this up.
19. I love Hello Kitty. Check out some of my stuff here.
20. I am obessed with the Eiffel Tower and my dream is to go to Paris. I have Eiffel Tower pajamas, a throw pillow, 2 Eiffel Tower framed prints in my bathroom, a candle, a tea light holder, a couple shirts, a charm for a necklace, a miniature Tower hanging from my rear view mirror, a key chain and a miniature replica that my sissy bought for me when she went to the actual Eiffel Tower.
I guess you could say these are a couple of the things I collect...

Here's the story...
I know my family has been waiting for me to write about this.
On Friday morning, my husband was in a car accident.
The other car turned left in front of him and totaled our car. He is ok, for the most part. He is bruised on his chest from the seatbelt and bruised his tailbone. He is having a hard time sitting. He did not want to go to the doctor, but since he is still hurting, I am making him go to the doctor on Wednesday. We now have money from the insurance company to use towards a down payment on a new vehicle. We were going to get a new vehicle (not necessarily new, but new to us) in a few months anyway. The car he was driving was almost paid off. I was going to get that car and he was going to buy a truck. Now, he gets the truck and I will still have to drive my beater car. My car is ok, but I don't like to take it on the freeway or long distances. So, I was looking forward to getting his car and being able to go anywhere. I know. I know. I am being selfish. He was in the accident and I make it all about me. That's not really true. I am just upset about that too. At least he will be ok.
Anything else bad want to happen now? I did say that at least we were already on a crappy luck streak. At least life wasn't going great and then this happened. It can only get better, right?

Subject: hygiene & footwear
15. I use Proactiv. I have been using it for a year and a half and it works! I swear!
Check out some old pics: 1, 2, 3
I need to take some new ones. It's even better now.
16. I use Schick Intuition razor. Seriously, this is the best. I hate to shave my legs with a passion. With this, you don't even need to use shaving cream. It makes it soooooooooo much easier and its great for travel - less to bring!
I sound like a walking advertisement for these products, but I swear by them!
17. I get a pedicure once a month. I wear nothing but sandals, so I need good looking toes.
18. I wear nothing but Birkenstocks. I have almost 30 pairs. I hate wearing shoes and would go barefoot all the time if I could. But since I can't, I wear the next best thing.

SUNS WIN! SUNS WIN!
This is it...
As the TV announcer said, this is the shot that made everyone in the city of Phoenix take a sigh of relief. Boy did we. It was the 3 point shot made by Tim Thomas to tie the game in regulation, sending the game to overtime where the Suns pulled it out and won! (that's a nice run-on sentence!)
Game 7 baby! Suns vs. Lakers right here in PHX Saturday night. Winner take all.

just when you think you've got it all together...
and you are feeling better emotionally...
You get told you didn't get the job you interviewed for and were MORE than qualified for and were a shoe in for and...
I could keep going, but I don't want to talk about it. Just know that it's over.

a funny thing about last night
My dad and I went to the Diamondbacks game. We we having fun and I was sitting in the seat in front of my dad so that we would have more room. It was definitely not a sell out game. Anyway. In the 2nd inning, the guy in the row in front of me turns and asks the couple that was sitting a few seats down from me, "Are you from XXX? (the company that my husband works for)" I thought I was crazy and that I didn't hear him correctly. The company is large, but not big in AZ yet and so I thought it was strange for someone to ask that. I forgot about it for a while, thinking I heard him incorrectly. Then I decided to call me husband and see if he knew if anyone from his firm was at the game. Here's pretty much how the conversation went:
Me: "Is there anyone from your firm at the game tonight?"
Him: "The funny thing about that is that I was gonna tell you there were free tickets to the game that we could have had if you weren't already there."
I then tell him about what I overheard. He asked me to describe the guy. He said that the company CFO was going to the game and they had a couple extra tickets for anyone in the office that wanted to go. I couldn't believe that the random guy in front of me was the company CFO.
Him: "Let me go get the tickets to see where they are."
Him: "Section 112, row 11, seats 19 & 20"
Me: "You are freaking kidding me! That's were my ass is sitting right now (I was in seat 20) Of all the seats in the entire ball park..."
My parents share season tickets for same seats the row behind that! Since his office is downtown and right down the street from the ball park, I told him to get his ass to the game to sit with me. He fought me a little, but then came in the 5th inning with another one of his co-workers. It was so awesome. I just can't get over it. I mean seriously? What are the odds? And them coming to the game was good luck. The bases got loaded and then Chad Tracy hit a grand slam home run to tie the game. The Diamondbacks ended up winning too. What a great night!

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 13
I am boy crazy.
I know my last fact was that I heart John Mayer, which is true.
But there is a long list of other boys I heart.
I will start with the most important...
This is the boy I heart more than anyone else on the earth:
Now I will continue with the list (broken down my genre)
MUSIC BOYS:
Oooh - two in one photo. Let me explain.
John Clayton Mayer (duh!) and Teddy Geiger. I heart each for different reasons.
Teddy is WAY too young, but I love his music. So he gets to be on the list.
TV BOYS:
MOVIE BOYS
SPORTS BOYS
I'm sure people that know me will list many more that I have forgotten. In my opinion, this is the top tier.
Aren't I lucky to have a husband who isn't jealous at all? He knows I love him.
Just cuz I'm on a diet, doesn't mean I can't look at the menu
