100 Facts about me in 100 Days:
FACT # 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66,
67, 68, 69, 70, 71

60. My favorite color is usually purple. It changes occasionally, but purple is the old stand by.

61. Daisies are my favorite flower. Hence the daisy tattoo. Daisies were the main flower in my wedding too.

62. My mother is 30 years older than me and my grandmother is 30 years older than her, making her 60 years older than me. But the grandmother that's 30 years older than my mother is my father's mother. (My dad is also 30 years older than me and so his mother is 30 years older than him.) Confused?

63. I played the alto saxophone in junior high. The best I got was 3rd chair. I also played the tenor saxophone for awhile during junior high too.

64. I sold my saxophone when I was in high school to buy a plane ticket to Ohio to visit the boy.

65. I sung in choir at school from 5th grade to my senior year in high school. I also sung in church choir from the age of 13 to 17.

66. My first "real" job (other than babysitting) was a receptionist at my church office.

67. I don't like getting drunk and have only been drunk a couple of times. I don't really drink to get drunk. I will have some wine or one drink and that's usually about it.

68. I can recite all the prepositions. I learned this in 5th grade and still remember them. About, above, across, after, against, along... Oh, and I know them in alphabetical order too.

69. I like the smell of gasoline.

70. I thought for a long time that I have a fear of heights. But I have come to realize that I am actually afraid of falling more than being up high.

71. I hate the sound of bare feet rubbing on carpet.

you can't believe everything you read

I just found this blog post (via Gawker) about John Mayer's comedy performance on Friday night. Comedy performance? Isn't he a... Yes. He's a musician. But he has been going to comedy clubs lately and performing. I am not 100% sure why, but he hasn't given music up; this I do know. Anyway, I was getting all upset about John being bad and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Then I find this and I feel much better. I think that first blogger was just trying to get attention and boy did he. That story is every where, fast.

And yes. I am still alive.

I'm sure you've seen it on the news...

but this is what is burning:

The Brins fire is burning in Oak Creek Canyon. The above pictures are from our visit there in November. It is some of the most beautiful terrain anywhere and it is burning out of control. Read about it here and here. I didn't want to post any pictures of the fire (you can see some on both links), because I would like to remember it how it look 8 months ago.

Big Brother All Stars

I am WAY excited for this! I love Big Brother. I have watched it every summer since the first season. I love that we (aka America) get to vote on who goes in to the house. I am so looking forward to Wednesday's episode where we get to find out who our options are!

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 58, 59

58. I hate to clean the bathroom and the shower especially. I surprisingly don't have a problem cleaning the toilet. I do use the Scotch Brite Bathroom Floor Cleaner. It is like a swiffer, but the shape makes it easy to go along the edges of the toilet and behind. They really work!

59. I get defensive quickly in the course of a conversation.

Look what we did today!

We went to Tucson and went to Sabino Canyon and Mt. Lemmon. It was such a fun day, but I am way tired and a little sunburned (nothing too bad - did freak out!). Click the picture to see the rest of the set.

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 57

I hold grudges. Big time.

after posting that...

I figured I should explain.

THE GOOD: there is finally a release date for John Mayer's new album, Continnum. It is September 12, 2006. Also, you all can finally hear the song I have been talking about since April 1st, Waiting on the World to Change. It is the first single off the album. Please go listen to it. It is fan-freakin-tastic! So I was so excited to hear the album version of that song since I was at the show where he played it for the first time. And I was all happy about having a release date finally.
THE BAD: tours dates were also released... not coming here. boo. hiss. I was really mad. But all Chris could say was "Thank the Lord." Then I go and find all those cute pictures and he got that award and I... well... got over it.
A little.

2006 Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards
06/15/06

John Mayer was presented the newly named Hal David Starlight Award by Alicia Keys, who received the Starlight Award in 2005 and he performed his song “Stop The Train.” Mayer eloquently explained his take on songwriters. “We’re conduits,” Mayer said. “Half the time we’re really, really turned on and the other we’re really really scared.” He cheekily concluded, “Songwriters are crazy. You don’t really want them around. There should only be one per social clique.”

100 Facts about me in 100 Days: FACT # 56

When I was 11 years old, I was attacked by a dog. It wasn't all that bad, but I do have a scar on my leg from it. So after that happened, I was terrified of dogs. So when I was 12, my parents decided to get me a dog to help me get over my fear. We got a pure bred cocker spaniel from a lady who rescues them. We named her Taffy. She was about 2 and a half years old when we got her. She was so shy. She didn't bark either. In the 8 or so years we had her, she barked less than a dozen times. She was more like a cat and than a dog. But I loved her. And it did help me get over my fear.

100 Facts about me in 100 Days:
FACT #51, 52, 53, 54, 55

51. I was named after my nana (my mom's mom). However, nana was called "La" (pronounced like it was being sung, like fa la la...). I don't like to be called La, because I am not her. You can me LA, though. Difference is "LA" is the letter L and the letter A (or abbreviation for Los Angeles). Gee, that was a confusing explanation.

52. I hate being late for appointments and events with scheduled start times.

53. I went to college for a total of 5 semesters (aka 2 and a half years).

54. I am one of those people who puts their ABC (Already Been Chewed) gum on their cups to save for later. Like when I am eating lunch, take the gum out and put it on the lid. I used to be way worse at this, but I still do it sometimes .

55. When I was young, I had a few pets... a hamster, some guinea pigs (for like a week) and then there was my beloved dog, Taffy. (Note to self...next fact-tell story about why we got Taffy.)

100 Facts about me in 100 Days:
FACT #46, 47, 48, 49, 50

46. I love watching awards shows. Last night was the MTV Movie awards. I love that crap. Not a big fan of AFI, but Christina Aguilera rocked. It was a little shaky at first, but she got more comfortable and sounded incredible. The awards were dumb, like most are, but I still love that junk.

47. I still consider myself Catholic, though I haven't been to church in a really long time. Actually, I did go a few months ago when I was visiting the sister. But other than that... I have feelings on the subject of going to mass. When I was younger, my mother told me "as long as you live in my house, you are going to mass every Sunday." So I went. Church did a lot for me. I met Chris at church for crying out loud. So if she hadn't forced me to go, I never would have met him. And for a long time, I wanted to go. I was in choir and I felt like a had a place there. Like I belonged. When I grew out of choir, I became a eucharist minister (the people who hand out communion). But after high school, my position at the church disappeared. I grew to resent it. I think that has something to do with why I don't go anymore. Anyway... next topic.

48. When I was 17, I had a fibroadenoma removed from my right breast. It was a very traumatic experience. I had outpatient surgery and the lump was removed. I now have a calcification from tissue damage during my surgery, that I will have for the rest of my life. I have had multiple ultrasounds and a mammogram just to be sure I am ok and all of this is nothing major. And so far I am.

49. I used to collect beanie babies. I have over 100. I haven't been buying them like I used to. I think in the last year, I have purchased about 5 or 6. Which is nothing compared to when I used to by 5 or 6 at a time, once a month. I have them all packed away and will one day give them to my children.

50. I am running out of facts...

Cars

I am excited for Cars to come out today. I looks like the best Pixar movie since Nemo. I am probably gonna see it next week, unless I can convince Chris to go this weekend. Watch the trailer here.
Plus, the soundtrack was released on Tuesday and you can listen to it here. Be sure to check out track 7. hehe :)

After all the controversy of the release of the baby pictures, its finally ok to post them. I think...

*tear*

I have been so upset about the Suns lost last night that I haven't been really talkative. I even yelled at my husband to go away when he came to talk to me after the game. I shouldn't have yelled at him and I apologized. But I was upset. I am mostly over it now. I loved the rush of watching the games and how exciting it was that my hometown team was doing so well. I will miss watching the games very much. I guess we have to go back to watching baseball. I have been neglecting the Diamondbacks in the last couple months.
Anyway. On Saturday, we went to IKEA because they are having a sale. We were looking for a couch to maybe replace our other IKEA couch, but we realized that if we were going to spend any more money than what we spent on the first couch, we should get a couch we really like, not just one to get us by. We did end up buying me a new desk (in the black-brown color). I have been planning on buying this desk for awhile now, but have not made it to IKEA in awhile. Chris put the desk together for me today and I am sitting at it now. It's nice and big. I have to get a new chair now because the one I am using is just a little too low and my arms don't hit the desk in the right postion. Chris says its because I'm short. Whatever.
Tonight was the finale (I think) of Big Love. I really like this show. It ended very dramatically. I really wonder what will happen. But better than that, Entourage will be back next week. I am so happy about this! I love that show and I heart Jeremy Piven. Tonight they were rerunning a couple of the last episodes from last season. I didn't realize how much I missed that show. Totally appointment television. Can't record that. Gotta watch it live baby.
And I will post a review of The Break Up sometime, maybe.

100 Facts about me in 100 Days:
FACT # 43, 44, 45

43. When I smile really big, my eyes disappear.

44. My favorite food is chicken.

45. I won't eat meat off the bone, even if it's chicken. I always say that I would be a vegetarian, but I like meat. I just can't bring myself to rip the flesh off the bone. Eat the flesh, no problem. I haven't always been this way. It's been, I'd say in the last 8 or 9 years.

10 Things That Make Me Happy

I came up with this photo meme last night and its taken off on my sister's blog. I had her post about it there, because she gets way more traffic than I do on her blog. Anyway, I did mine today. I decided there were a few ways you could go with this concept. I wanted it to be more like specific things that maybe at the moment make you happy. But many people took the idea and made it their own. And that's really cool. But I am sticking to my original idea. I think I will do this many times. Just decide that one day I am going to walk around my house (or wherever I am) and decide what makes me happy right now. So here it is...

random email humor

A teacher was doing a study testing the senses of first graders, using a
bowl of lifesavers.
The children began to say:
"Red..........................cherry,"
"Yellow.....................lemon,"
"Green.......................lime,"
"Orange.....................orange,"
Finally the teacher gave them all honey lifesavers.
After eating them, none of the children could identify the taste.
"Well," the teacher said, "I'll give you all a clue, it's what your
mother may sometimes call your father."
One little girl looked up in horror, spit her lifesaver out and yelled:
"Oh My God!!!! They're assholes!"
