I am posting this tonight, since I will not be seeing the game tomorrow. I don't know when we will be getting home, but I doubt I will see most if any of the game.
10/01/07 - 5:29pm PST edited to add: They won! Congrats! 2-2. Awesome. We made it home in time for me to see the last 28 seconds of the game.
This is me and Chris post dinner... I came back to the room so that Chris could mingle and drink without me. When I am there with him, I just stand there looking bored. What else can I do? It's work people. They talk about work. So, I came back to the room and made him take this photo before he went back to the party. I also took tons of photos today. I went on a walk all around the resort. You can see them on my flickr page here. I am really tired and I am gonna go get ready for bed. I know, I'm old...
We (me & Chris) are currently in Palm Springs, California. We left early this morning around 6:30 and got on the road a little after 7am. We are here for Chris's work retreat. I am just along for the ride! I get to enjoy the resort while Chris has to go to meetings. Bummer for him, awesome for me. I know that I will be spending a lot time by myself, but I am really cool with that. I am looking forward to spending most of tomorrow exploring the property and taking lots of photos. I will post a few here and there while we are here, because we have free internet access, baby!! It's the high life!
I don't usually talk about the train wrecker that is Britney Spears. I read about it, but don't usually blog about it. But when I saw this photo yesterday, I just got sad. Not for her, but for those babies. Poor 2 year old Sean Preston has to parent and comfort little 1 year old Jayden. Why is she such a train wreck? I will never understand why some people seek out drama. Mild drama, yes. But the things that she does... it's stuff normal people do not do. Most people don't go out wearing just a shirt (I saw a photo of this a few weeks ago.) or anything like the crap she wears. Yes, its LA, its hot. But what's wrong with shorts and a t-shirt? Maybe if she started wearing clothes, I would gain a small amount of respect for her. But she is just crazy. It is so sad that she went and had those babies when she still has so much growing up to do. We all thought that once she divorced K-Fed that she would get her life back together, but the opposite has happened. She is worse then ever. I don't get it at all. She clearly needs help. The last thing I am gonna say on this subject (for not, at least) is that she should not be driving around with those boys in her car, because she is clearly not right... drugs? alcohol? mental problems? Any of those are reasons why she should be driving at all.
Sometimes when I upload my photos to flickr, I look at some of the photos in Everyone's Photos. I really like looking at wedding photos. I found some really pretty photos from a small wedding held in front of a tree. I thought I would steal a couple, because I really like them. I hope the people are ok with it. You have to know that by making the photos public, anyone can really look at them. Whatever. Here they are (and yes, the head were cut off in the original photos):
Last night was my friend Carrie's birthday party. It was at one of her other friend's houses. See, she made lots of friends in college that I don't know. She went up north to NAU and I stayed here. The funny thing is, many of the people she made friends with also went to our high school. But we were not friends with them, really, in high school. So she has this whole other group of friends and I am on the fringe of that group. It was nice to see them, but strange to hang out with them. We only stayed for a couple hours, but we got to enjoy celebrating with Carrie!
btw: the photo is funky, because I was far away from the action and didn't plan well enough!
It was a lovely day today for the first day of fall. Here in AZ, a lovely fall day is high 80's - low 90's. Last night, we opened up the windows and turned off the air conditioner for the first time since May. We were able to keep the windows open all day today and it was so nice to have fresh air. It feels so different. It is gonna warm back up to about 98 by the middle of the week, but today was wonderful.
As excited as I am for the Sex and the City movie, I am bummed that there are photos all over the web of the shooting of the film. Since it is filmed in NYC, there are paparazzi all over the place and photos that are basically spoilers. I can't help but see them, because I am a frequent gossip blog reader. I just wish I didn't know some of the things I already know about the movie. Boo hiss. Also, the movie is like torture. I will leave it wanting more and I won't get it. When the show was on, after each episode, you looked forward to next week's episode. I will want the same thing after the movie, but will be denied. I will still see it though. By myself, of course.
Just cuz there is no good reason not to post this. Apparently he was wearing a little makeup, because the performance was recorded for TV. It was a little more makeup then I think he thought. It is really obvious. He is nice and pasty, like me. So when you do wear makeup, its that obvious. But still cute. And I like the ensemble (purple tie!!). He must own a velvet suit in every color.
I saw this article the other day and I was thoroughly creeped out about the concept. Mormon missionaries posing without their shirts for a calender. Really? Something about that seems really wrong. Then I went to the website and I freaked out even more. Very disturbing and very wrong. Check it out for yourself. Don't just take my word for it.
Today my friend Carrie's 30th birthday. Saturday night is her party and I am looking forward to it! I have known Carrie since we were 5 years old. She is my oldest and dearest friend and I love her very much. Happy Birthday, Carebear!
It's tonite! I hope Danielle wins. I have to hurry up and get a few things done so I can watch it. I usually cheat and find out who wins, but I am not going to tonight. I need the anticipation.
Last night's episode ruled! I know it was low in the ratings, but I still loved it. I can really see where they are going, at least I think I can.... I love this show so much. During the last commercial break, Chris came out in to the living room, looked at me and said, "What's wrong?" I was looking all sad-like. My answer, "I'm sad because the show is almost over." He then said, "You recorded it. Just rewind it and watch it again." Me: "OOh, yeah!"
Kids are catching Crocs-clad feet in escalators At rail stations and shopping malls around the world, reports are popping up of people, particularly young children, getting their toes caught in escalators. The one common theme seems to be the clunky soft-soled clogs known by the name of the most popular brand, Crocs.
One of the nation's largest subway systems - the Washington Metro - has even posted ads warning riders about wearing such shoes on its moving stairways. The ads feature a photo of a crocodile, though they don't mention Crocs by name.
Yesterday was a huge sports day here in Phoenix. Not only did the Cardinals win their first of the season and the Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers, keeping them 2 games ahead of San Diego on the NL West, but the Phoenix Mercury won the WNBA championship. That is only the second professional sports championship in Arizona ever. Congrats to them!
Entertainment Weekly’s 5th Annual Pre-Emmy Party 09/15
The gorgeousness that is Wentworth Miller is on Ellen today. The DJ always plays cool songs when the guests come out and this is what they played for Went:
Perfect! Could not have been a more perfect song. He was there pimping today's season premiere. I am so excited for tonite!!!
edited to add: My favorite is the blue dress worn by Kristen Bell, because it looked perfect on her. Sometimes its not just the dress alone, but how it looks on the person. My second favorite is the berry colored dress worn by Heidi Klum. I really didn't like her hair and makeup with that dress, so that's why its not my favorite.
I finished Prison Break season 2! Fell in love with it all over again. It took me less then 3 days to watch it all. Yes, I have no life. I am looking forward to season 3 starting on Monday. Hooray. Oh, and this was on the special features section:
I have seen this before. This DJ remixed the theme song and I guess the producers heard about it and put it on the DVD. Very cool.
I came home early from work today. I feel like shit. I haven't been sleeping lately and my throat really hurts. I think I am coming down with something. I hate being sick. But what I'm gonna do is get going on my Prison Break season 2 marathon. I have been slacking so bad on this. I bought the DVD two weeks ago and I am dumb for waiting to the last minute to watch any of it. Season 3 starts Monday. I have about 17 hours of show to watch between now and then. I can do it, its just gonna be brutal. So, I am gonna get some food and drink and lay on the couch for the rest of the day, being sick and looking longingly at Wentworth...
3:03pm PST edited to add: Just finished disc one (episode 1-4). Taking a potty break. Getting some iced tea and popcorn. Ready for disc two! Loving it!
Tonight is the first Monday night football game of the season. It's a big night. A double header! Baltimore in the 'Nati and AZ in San Fran! I love this game!
edited to add: I don't know why I get so excited. The Cardinals lost, as usual.
OK, now you worrywarts have something to wring your hands about: The Ausiello Report has just learned that after giving birth, Sarah Wayne Callies is not returning to Prison Break after all.
Shocking, right? Especially given the way the actress' manager has been insisting for weeks that her client would be back. (The words "pants on fire" come to mind.) We already knew that Callies was MIA from the opening credits in the first two episodes and that, for the one scene in which Dr. Sara appeared, a body double was used. But nonetheless, trusting souls that we are, we believed the mom-to-be still had a job. Well, no more. There's a story here, and you're gonna get it.
Um, as soon as we do.
I had hoped that she was not in the new promo photos because of the baby. But turns out she is gone from the show. That sucks so bad. I really hope they don't just leave it hanging. We (those who loved that story line) need some closure.
Also, I am slacking. I bought season 2 on Tuesday and haven't watched any yet. I will try to get started this weekend and will commit myself to finishing next weekend. I will have it all watched before season 3.
I changed the color on the template, but kept everything else the same. Like it? I am not sure. Looks kinda depressing. But I need a change and I am still struggling with finding something I like.
I am not gonna lie, when I saw these two videos, I cried. I did. Full on tears. Wiping my eyes so I didn't miss a minute. What it's all about is, John Mayer joined Dave Matthews Band on stage for #41 at the concert of VA Tech yesterday. That is such an incredible song. And the fact that John jammed with the ultimate jam band... It's just too much for my little heart to handle. I have loved DMB since high school and you know my love for the hotness. When those world collide, it brings me more joy then I can even express. Music means a lot to me and DMB holds a very special place in my heart. Seeing them all on stage together is simply magical. Carter smiling while watching John play is, I think, what did it for me. That was the last straw and brought on the tears. Laugh all you want at me, but enjoy the music...
Thank you John Clayton Mayer, David John Matthews, Carter Beauford, Boyd Tinsley, LeRoi Moore and Stephen Lessard. You all are amazing.

Maybe We Should Fall In Love by Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers
This video is apparently from the DVD that accompanies the newest cd, No More Beautiful World. I say apparently, because I have yet to purchase said album. Boo. Bad fan!! But I really love this song. All Roger Clyne [<--click that for a yummy photo that I posted before!] songs can easily get stuck in your head. My favorite thing from this video is the scene at the 1:33 mark. Roger meditating among the agave. Perfection. Oh, here is another cute clip, apparently from the same DVD. This song (Contraband) is really good too and there is a little interview-y stuff on this clip:
Southwestern sound, baby!!
edited to add: I just rectified that situation. I purchased the album and this kiss ass license plate:
