I love that the Cardinals have a whole new set of fans now that they are in the Super Bowl. I think that's great. All the support that they are getting is wonderful. I hope these new fans stay fans.
Me, however... I have been a fan for 20 years, thru good times and bad. And I have the proof:
Can't argue with that. It even shows how old I was! That makes it 20 years, as I am 31 now. Love the crimped hair, btw. When the Cardinals first came in AZ in 1988, they were called the Phoenix Cardinals. They changed to the Arizona Cardinals in 1994.
I can't believe the game is tomorrow!!!! I'm so excited.

fun day
Despite running on about 3 hours sleep, I had a really fun day today. My mom came over and we went to see Slumdog Millionaire. OMG. I loved it so much. It was fantastic. I loved the story and the way it was told. I loved the look of it and all the over head shots of the city. I loved the little boy who played the main character as a child. And the older female lead... wow. Just wow. Gorgeous. I think I loved everything about it. I am so glad we chose to see it. After the movie, we decided to be silly and take our picture in a photo booth. The picture quality was really bad, but we had fun doing it. We were laughing so hard. I had to do some editing and it looked the best in black and white.
Too fun. We make each other laugh, even during these tough times and I am lucky to have her. It was the best day I have had in a really long time.
edited to add: I cannot believe I forgot to mention that on the way home from the movie we stopped at 7-11 and I got a Slurpee! I have been wanting a Slurpee for a over a week now. But due to only having one vehicle, its not so easy to just run out and make a random purchase. But I did today and I was so happy. Now I am hyped up on sugar from it, but I will crash soon.

hallelujah
I know I post way too many videos on my blog. I know that hearing about Jason Castro might be a little old. But never have you EVER heard him like this. This video was taken by my friend Heather at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. Jason recorded this song for the movie Amar A Morir. He performed the song after the screening this past Friday night.
Please take 4 minutes and 14 seconds out of your day and listen to this. Forget everything you thought you knew about him and just listen.
Tell me your thoughts in the comments, please.

...
I have not been wanting to blog about this, especially because most of the people that read my blog already know what has been going on. But I think I need to say something about it.
My parents are getting divorced. How I feel about it, I don't quite know yet. Shock, anger, sadness, happiness, fear. Every emotion you could imagine.
That is what has been going on with me.
The more I write right now, the more I realize I can't talk about it. Maybe later...

yeah me!
I can finally share my good news...
I am the new Arizona & New Mexico state Jason Castro Street Team leader.
That's a mouthful. Basically, I oversee the Street Team for both states. Fun and exciting! I had to interview for the position and everything. Sure, it doesn't pay well... er, not at all. But I am all for getting the word out about Jason. I cannot wait to get started.

best picture I took in 2008
I had a request for the best picture I took in 2008. It was not a very tough choice for me. This is my favorite picture I took all year.
For the past 2 years, I have done a photo 365 blog. That means posting a picture every single day for the whole year. In 2007, I kept up with it, but this year not so much. I am so behind on this year... I plan on finishing it, but I don't plan on doing another one for 2009. I am stealing my sister's idea and just posting photos here on this blog when I take them. I have learned a lot from my photo blog. I have learned to take better pictures. I was never really into photography much. I just have a little point and shoot camera. But I have learned to use it and take some decent pictures. I enjoy it too. I see photo potential in everything now. I carry my camera with me everywhere and I like to capture my life on film (so to speak). So, I'm not gonna stop taking pictures, but I can't manage to keep up the photo blog anymore.

best local sports story of 2008
I had some requests for more best ofs, so here we go.
I am sure there was little doubt as to what would be my best LOCAL sports story of this year. This picture says it all:
My Arizona Cardinals became the NFC West Champions for the first time in more than 60 years and headed to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. That first playoff game was this past Saturday and would you believe it? They won that too! This has been a great season and only 3 more games to go to win it all!
This is my best sports story because I have been a Cardinals fan from the moment they came to Arizona. That was over 20 years ago. I have stood behind them and supported them thru it all. It has mostly been bad. They have not been a good team. But I was still there every Sunday watching the games. Never giving up on them. So to finally have some recognition for them is so exciting for me. I will always be a Cardinals fan, but this year... I can finally say it with just a little more pride.
