you know what stinks?
Besides waking up with a headache?
I realized when I was about 2 miles from work, that I forgot to put on deodorant. Nice. I debated turning around and going home to put it on, but I would have been late. So, of course, I started sweating and freaking out. I pulled into work and suddenly realized that I have a membership to the gym at work and... THEY HAVE DEODORANT! Awesome. I stopped in and sprayed. Ah, much better. I can sweat all I want now. Hooray.
Now, if only this headache would go away.

*yawn*
I just had a realization. I had to get up, out of bed, and write this down.
This is the year of my 10 year high school reunion. I need to go on a diet. How cliche am I that I just decided I am going to go on a diet before my reunion? Yup. My realization was multi-layered.
1. I am 28 years old.
2. It has been 10 years since I graduated from high school.
3. My reunion will be sometime this year.
4. I need to loose some weight for that.
5. Not just for that, but because its about time.
damn. I need to go back to bed.
Before I do... a list of things I need to remember to blog about:
my cracked, dry hands
Brokeback Mountain
a list of people I do and do not want to see at the reunion

the gift of music
Ever since my sister "gifted" me a song when she left for college, I have been a big fan of "gifting" songs to people. What I mean by that is giving someone song lyrics or playing the song for them and telling the person what the meaning of the song means to you or for them. I might not be making much sense, but I often do this. So, I am going to do it now for my sister. I know I have gifted many songs to her, but I heard one over the weekend that I can't get out of my head. Not only that, but it is my wish and hope for her. It makes me cry to listen to it. Here you go, sis. I love you so very much.
Move Along by All American Rejects
Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking
When you fall everyone stands
Another day and you've had your fill of sinking
With the life held in your
Hands are shaking cold
These hands are meant to hold
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
Move along
So a day when you've lost yourself completely
Could be a night when your life ends
Such a heart that will lead you to deceiving
All the pain held in your
Hands are shaking cold
Your hands are mine to hold
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong we move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong, we move along
Along, along, along
When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
[x3]
(Move along)
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
Right back what is wrong
We move along
To hear it, click here, select your media player and choose track 3.
And the funny thing is, when I was listening to other tracks, I feel like I should also gift you, Dirty Little Secret. Teehee.
edited to add: the new video for the song is here

cramps.are.the.devil.
I am in serious pain here folks. I know that it seems like way to much information, but I don't care.
I am going home early. I will convienently be able to watch the Broncos game, but that is not why I am going home. I can't sit here like this all day.
I can't bring myself to write anymore either...

totally
I was totally gonna go shopping after I get off work today. Then I totally checked the movie listings and saw that the movie I have totally wanted to see for like ever is going to open tomorrow at the theater that is right by where I was going to go shopping today. So I am totally not gonna go shopping today and I am totally going tomorrow and finally going to see Brokeback Mountain. Then I totally wigged when I saw that Capote is opening at the same theater tomorrow too. I totally thought that I should theater jump and stay to see the showing of Capote after Brokeback. But I decided that might be a little much for one day. So I am totally going to see Capote next Thursday. I decided I need to totally see more movies. I want to see most of the award nominated movies before the academy awards. Even though those nominations aren't even out yet. Like totally.

blogging the Golden Globes
Lets get this party started. And fer real? Don't Cha? Is that the only song anyone can sing?
7:06pm MST
What's with Adrian Brody's ascot? Why does he think he's cute? Natalie Portman's hair is growing back. That's good to see. Her dress has little boob cups. That's odd.
Does George Clooney really act? I don't think he's that great of an actor and not all that good looking. But that's just me.
7:10pm MST
How beautiful is Scarlett Johansson? My lord. Ah- Rachel Weisz just scared the crap out of me. She looks so scary. I know she's pregnant, but that dress, the makeup and the hair. That's wrong. No wins for Dawson's Creekers tonight. Boo.
7:18pm MST
THE PIVES!!!!!!!! Better win this time! PAUL NEWMAN? You've got to be shitting me! Totally not fair. The new Superman is not cute at all. And Teri Hatcher looks old.
Sandra Oh rocks my world. She is the shit on Grey's Anatomy. She didn't know where to go. Cute. She feels like someone set her on fire. So cute.
I don't know if I can keep up this pace, but I will try. When I have to stop and eat, I'll make mental notes.
7:26pm MST
Drew - put on a bra! MY GOD. She looks terrible. Emmy Rossum is so pretty. I loved Phantom.
7:30pm MST
Love me some Jesse L. Nicolette needs to stop. Dating Michael Bolton? Seriously?
Geena Davis won. What a major upset. No one thought she would win.
7:34pm MST
Dr. McDreamy. Can't Buy Me Love. hehehe Ah Went. How cute are you? At least it was some random that I don't even watch that beat my boy. Everyone said Hugh Laurie would win and that Wentworth Miller was the dark horse. But he looks so cute. How funny about the names in the pocket and picking them out at random. That's really funny.
Damn, this is alot harder than I thought. I am trying to watch and pay attention. But I can only type so fast.
7:40pm MST
Not about the Globes - Chris just dropped a chip in my glass of soda. He then said, blog about that. I said, "ok" and he said, "I was kidding." He said that he wants to get a shirt that says "My life is not your blog."
7:42pm MST
Melanie gets to introduce her daughter as Miss Golden Globe. Cute. I really don't want to see The Producers. I am not impressed.
7:45pm MST
I haven't seen any of these mini series'. Viva Blackpool? What the hell is that? At least the others I have heard of.
Ah, speeches give me time to rest.
7:46pm MST
William Peterson and Pam Anderson. Yikes. She is such trash. Mandy is there with Zach. How cute. Charlie Sheen looks sad and lonely. Deservedly so. Steve Carell won! That's so cool. This is upset night too. No one was predicating any of these winners so far. Wow. Do you think his wife really wrote that speech? It would be funny either way. He thanked her like 100 times. I love that The Daily Show was all inbred like that.
Getting the feeling that I have something to say about everything and everyone? Damn me.
7:57pm MST
Sissy's boyfriend, Tim Robbins.
7:58pm MST
now trying to triple task. Eating too. Come on Reese. SWEET. She rocked that movie. Scarey dress though. Ryan Phillippe is so hot and such a cute husband. They are the best. She almost cried thanking her family.
8:01pm MST
How much as Desperate Housewives jumped the shark? I mean come on. It's not even good anymore. They all vetoed each other out. At least the foreign press knows that Housewives has jumped the shark too. Mary Louise Parker is such a good actress.
OOh, I am staying tuned for Matthew McConaughey.
8:07pm MST
Did you just see that Scrubs commercial? How freaking funny is that? I'll be they made one for every nominee and one for if Zach Braff won. I was not a huge Scrubs fan, but I will watch it if nothing else is on.
8:11pm MST
I'll admit it once and for all. I have a major girl crush on Kate Beckinsale.
8:34pm MST
Just finished eating. Not much to say about what was on then.
Entourage better win. Damn those Housewives. Freaks. I hate them.
8:37pm MST
Penelope Cruz does not look all that great. That color of light pink is not good on her.
8:38pm MST
Matthew - finally. That tease for him was a long time ago. That movie with Sarah Jessica looks dumb. How cute that Matthew, of the Broderick persuasion, winked at SJP when she was walking on stage. They are a cute married couple too. Put them and Reese and Ryan in a competition for cutest celebrity couple.
8:49pm MST
Alanis and her blonde ass hair did not win. Maybe if she didn't dye her hair, she would have won.
8:56pm MST
I'm slowing down. Gwynnie all pregnant like. That dress sucks. But she is so cute pregnant. I vote for the new baby to be named Plum.
Anthony Hopkins...blah...blah...blah. Why does she keep calling him Antony. No h. Why?
9:16pm MST
I really have to see Brokeback Mountain now. Ang Lee won. I think Chris indirectly said that I can take his car on Friday and go.
9:20pm MST
Joaquin was a shoe in. I'll bet that he made a bet with Ryan Phillipe and that's what that "I will pay" meant and the hand gesture from Ryan. Funny. I think that Joaquin is an amazing actor because he is so messed up and strange in real life and you would never know it from his characters. Like I was saying about George Clooney-his acting is not a stretch for him. It's just a slight variation on him in real life. But not that way with Joaquin. Remember when he was Leaf Phoenix?
9:27pm MST
Chris says that Renee Zellweger looks like she just got slapped and is about to cry. He said she always looks like that. He cracks me up. Watching these shows with him are difficult because he tries to act like he knows, but he is wrong most of the time. He asks himself trivia questions and then tries to answer them himself. Then gives up and asks me. Cool that Walk the Line won. At least I've seen that movie.
Seriously. Reese and Ryan are the cutest couple ever!
9:32pm MST
Chris just put two and two together. "It makes sense that it is the globes since it is the foreign press." I told him that he is funnier to blog than the award show. He says that's not fair.
9:37pm MST
Best show - I am torn. Prison Break or Grey's. But I think LOST will win. Look, there's Went again. Ahh. See LOST won. Thought so.
9:41pm MST
Dennis Quaid just made me scream. It rhymes with chic flick. What an ass. That was totally insensitive. I just keep saying "wow." I've heard it called a gay cowboy movie, but never a dick flick.
9:43pm MST
Since I've seen clips of Felicity Huffman in Transamerica, I can't not look at her and think of her as a man dressed as a women. For real. Next time you see her, think of that. Maybe that's why she won, because she really looks like a dude. She called her husband her north star and her haven. That is really sweet. But she still looks like a dude.
augh. This is almost over. I will not be blogging the Oscars, that's for sure.
It makes me not like it. It makes me want it to end. And if you know me at all, you know that I live for this shit. I am a celebrity junkie. I can answer almost any celebrity question you might have. I would make the best phone a friend for celebrity or pop culture questions.
Give Heath the award so we can all go home.
9:50pm MST
Here we go. Oh yeah, I need to see Capote. That looks really good. Damn. Heath didn't win. Upset city again. Crazy. And I thought Heath and Michelle would both win and it would be family affair. I was totally wrong.
9:57pm MST
When they bring Denzel out, you know its almost over.
Brokeback just won for best picture. Director, screenplay and movie, but no acting awards for it. Very interesting.
10:00pm MST
Thank you for reading and goodnight.
7:06pm MST

I got the following email from one of my bosses today:
XXXX Insured, Bernard XXXXX from XX, sent a letter praising what a great job Laura had done on his glass claim. He stated that, "He was very satisfied with the entire process. Laura was courteous, arranged the repair at his convenience and set the appointment with a repairman, while he was on the phone with her. He just wanted to tell XXXX, that it was a pleasure to do business with a great company with truly dedicated people."
Thanks for the TERRIFIC JOB, Laura !!!!

ICANNOTBELIEVEIFORGETTOBLOGABOUTTHIS!!!
Yesterday I discovered something so fabulous that I floated around the house. I found that... wait for it... wait for it... the John Mayer Trio will headline the second day of the Tempe Music Festival. Tempe. As in Tempe, Arizona. Less than 15 miles from my home!!!!!!! I am so excited! It is March 31st and April 1st. That is the weekend after I get back from seeing my sibling unit. I asked Chris if we could go and he said yes! I thanked him for not fighting me on it. He said that he didn't really have a choice anyway. And I said, "no, not really. But you could have fought me on and then gone anyway."
I am so excited!
I am so excited!
upset city
I am loving this weekends NFL playoff games! Last weekend sucked, with the Bengals losing and all. But last night, the Broncos won!! I am a new Bronco fan for the last couple years. Ever since Jake Plummer left the Cardinals. Well, needless to say I was very excited that the Broncos won. Not just won - they beat the defending champs, New England Patriots. How cool! Then today, the Steelers beat the Colts in the upset of the year. That means the Broncos will play the Steelers next week and the winner of that game gets to go to the Super Bowl!!!! WOOHOO! That gives the Broncos a real chance. I knew that if they played the Colts, they would lose. But now that the Colts are gone, they have a good chance.
Are you ready for some football?!?!?!?!
Yes. I am a girl.

Yes. I am a girl.

People's Choice Awards
Hooray for Prison Break! It won best new drama. I was watching the show with my mother on the phone and she kept trying to tell my father which of the boys on the show I like while they were playing a clip of the actual show. She kept saying that I liked "that guy" when Dominic Purcell was on the screen. I kept saying to her, "No. The other guy." So that explains the alterations to this picture! hehe

Because my sister did it, I decided to myself. Before I share my list, I feel it necessary to share that I ran two different pictures of me and my sister and she came up as Annette Benning both times. So how she came up with Lindsay Lohan, I will never know. Kidding.
My list is as follows:
Judy Garland
Rita Hayworth
Kirsten Dunst
Scarlett Johansson
and this makes me scream... Bill Gates
are you freaking kidding me? I know I didn't change the gender to female only, but still. I look nothing like Bill Gates. And if you think I do, you better never, ever say that you agree. I will hunt you down and you will regret it. Ok, I am over it. Maybe. A little.

new quote
I forgot to mention my new quote up above.
As relevant as I still find the previous quote:
"Still 'everything happens for a reason' is no reason not to ask myself if I am living it right."
I felt like I need a change for the new year.
"I am the shifter of the shape I'm in. Who did you think I was?"
I gives inspiration and also calls into question peoples preconceived notions of who I am. I have been struggling with that a lot lately and found the quote very appropriate. I can change who I am. Don't get too comfortable. *wink*

its in the details
I promised to blog about the last few weeks. But I really have no inspiration right now. I am so tired. I did not want to get up this morning. I could not figure out why my alarm kept going off. I guess in my dream, I was telling myself that it was going off for no reason and I kept thinking I had turned it off. It was like it was haunting me or something. Then, about 20 minutes after I was supposed to get up, I woke up enough to realize that I actually had to get up. I made it on time, but had to rush. Last night, Chris called me out about not blogging this weekend. And my only defense is that it is technically still the weekend, just not my weekend. I said that I never specified and that's the truth. So, I am going to try. My original plan was to break it down, day by day and share the joy. But I scratched that idea. I think I will break it down by weeks, with some days getting attention of their own...
December 20th to December 25th:
Well, my sister was here. She came on the 20th. I think we only fought like once or twice. We had a good time hanging out together. We went and saw Walk the Line and my luck followed us. I seem to have bad luck at the movies. I was once watching a movie at a theater and the power in the entire square block went out. Special. When we were watching, Walk the Line, the screen went out. The sound stayed on for a few minutes and then that went off too. They came in the theater and said that the power blew on all the theaters on one side of the building. They said that it wouldn't take long to fix and it really didn't. I just got a bit snippy because there were immature kids in the theater making all sorts of stupid comments. At times like those, I really feel like an adult. It happens. I am aware of this and so I do not see the need to curse the theater and scream and yell. I guess having been through it before, I doesn't phase me. They gave us free passes too. So it was all gravy for me. On the evening of the 21st, we (meaning me, Chris, sibling unit and parents) went to get family pictures taken. The only family picture we have is from sibling's wedding and it is now out of date and our family consists of one less person. So, we needed new ones. That was an adventure. We had an appointment, but apparently those don't matter much. By the time we got our pictures taken, it was like almost two hours late. And the worst part about the whole thing is something that I found out on Thursday. Some of the pictures did not turn out. So, we had to pick new poses. They did give us 3 free sheets of pictures, but it still sucks. On Christmas eve, we all went to my cousin's house. It was pretty fun. Lots of chaos with all the kids opening presents at the same time. Christmas day was fun. I love presents. We got really nice things.
December 26th to December 30th:
The 26th was really just a day to recover from Christmas. Put stuff away and get started cleaning my house for my in-laws visit. On the 27th, I worked and then that night, there was a dinner with my co-workers and Claim Jumper. It was nice. But the best part was that I went to the mall after dinner and went to the Sanrio store. Love me some Hello Kitty. The 27th was also my parents anniversary. The 28th is my anniversary. We had decided this year to not get each other any gifts. I did give him a card and left love notes all over the house for him to find before he went to work. The day was slow for me. I was still in my pajamas around 1:30pm and Chris instant messaged me and asked if I wanted to go to Las Vegas for the night. Ah, WHAT? How cool is that? He had told me a few weeks earlier that he had thought of doing that, but I didn't have the time off work. But then I was able to get those days off and so he decided to spring his plan back into action. I then quickly cleaned myself up, went and got a pedicure and packed. We left for the airport about 4ish and were in Vegas a few hours later. I will be commenting on Vegas in its own post sometime VERY SOON. It was awesome. So fun. I hadn't been since I was a toddler and had no memory of it whatsoever. We came back on the evening of the 29th. We couldn't stay longer, because the in-laws were coming. The did come on the night of the 30th. Their flight got in at like 11:15pm. No kidding. It was nuts. My sister in-laws (their are 2 of them - Linda, 24 and Sarah, 20) came home with us because they were going to stay at our house while they were there. And my parents-in-law went to the hotel. And the fun began.
December 31st to January 4th:
Having the girls with us was fun. Chris made us a big breakfast on the 31st for us. It was nice. That day, his parents came over and saw the house. We then went on a driving tour. What's funny about it is that we all could not fit in one car. There were 6 of us. So Chris and me and his sisters in our car and his parents in their rental. They followed us around using the old school 2-way radios. I kept trying to get Chris to say "Over" after everything he said, but he wouldn't. We showed them were Chris works, where I work, our old apartment and places we like to go. Then we drove up South Mountain and looked at the view. That night, we ordered pizza from our favorite place, Rosati's and hung out at our house. It was New Years Eve and we did not want to go out at all. We drank yummy wine and Chris mixed drinks. We then played my new game, Disney Scene It. Chris bought this for me for Christmas and it is so freaking fun. All 6 of us played and really got into it. Family fun night! We stayed up until midnight and then the parents went back to their hotel and we all went to sleep. The next day we just chilled at home. Chris's parents went driving around their old neighborhood. We didn't meet up with the parents until that night when we all (all meaning, me, Chris, Linda, Sarah, my parents and the parents-in-law) met at Buca di Beppos for a big family dinner. Lots of food. And lets just say, keep the pitchers of Sangria coming. I guess it was the "right" thing to do. To have us all get together. My mother in law is hung up on being proper. She follows some guide book that no one has ever seen and has issues if people don't live up to her ideals. Yeah, I know. That's another story for another day. Anyway. The next day, I went back to work. They all went to the zoo. More family fun. I worked the next day also and I don't remember what they did. Hmm. And they left on the 4th. It really wasn't that bad. It could have gone a lot worse. We've been living back in AZ for over 3 years and this is the first time they've come to see us. And we'll leave it at that.
