John Announces Weekend Cruise Getaway for February 2008!
There's no better place to enjoy the wonderful weather of February than the Bahamas. With that in mind...
We are pleased to announce the first ever John Mayer-hosted cruise: The Mayercraft Carrier.
The Mayercraft Carrier is a 3-day Caribbean cruise that sets sail on February 1, 2008 from Miami, FL and visits Freeport, Bahamas before returning on February 4, 2008. The cruise will feature sets by John in nightclub-like settings as well as performances by a dozen or so other hand-picked artists. All of this takes place aboard the Carnival Victory, a member of the Carnival fleet that includes all the luxurious amenities Carnival is known for such as a full service spa, fine dining, a casino, and much more.
Availability is limited and as a Local 83 member you will have the benefit of booking before the general public. Cruise fare starts at $699 per person based on double-occupancy. Keep an eye on MayercraftCarrier.com. In the coming weeks we will be launching a full-blown website for detailed information.
Replace the mittens with suntan lotion, the resolutions with buffet feasts, and your car in traffic with a 90,000-ton cruise ship full of rock bands!
See you aboard.

seriously
If she is pregnant and he is staying with her because of it, I will shoot myself in the head.
They are obviously in some sort of disagreement and/or emotional conversation.
Cry on, bitch. He's just not that into you

i have found my dream home
It's called The House Above the Morning Clouds. Right now, it's on the market for $39 million. Sounds reasonable. I saw this house on this HGTV show called Big Splash. It was all about really cool pools. This pool is my favorite and the house is amazing too! Maybe one day...

you know what I hate? (among other things...)
Lately I have been hearing about the the 30th anniversary of things, like for example, the release of Star Wars. Why does this bother me? That movie came out in the same year I was born!!!!!!!! Enough with the 30th anniversaries. I can't deal. There is even a big ol convention thing in LA right now celebrating 30 years of Star Wars. Am I going to get a convention? NOOOO.
See, I enjoy living in denial. Mostly about my age, but denial of most other things too. But when it's everywhere on the TV and whatnot, I can't ignore it.
The worst part... I was planning on a big trip to celebrate my 30th birthday (A trip with the whole family to California - which is where I was born - and go to Disneyland! What better place to celebrate being old then where you can be a kid?) and now I really don't think it's gonna happen financially. So that's a bummer too. All I'm saying is...
ENOUGH WITH THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF - CRAP!

that's all you can say
This is the funniest episode of Dexter's Lab - EVER!! I love this so much. I needed a good laugh today. If you've got 6 minutes and 46 seconds, watch this and you'll know why I love it.

Jessica Simpson pregnancy rumor
The National Enquirer is running an article that claims that “friends” are wondering if Jessica Simpson is pregnant. Commentors here have speculated the same thing in regards to her weight gain, and it sounds to me like they’re just looking at the pictures. They use the picture of those terrible high-waisted pants she was wearing and say that her boobs are getting big and that people are talking...
Dear Lord. Will this ever end?

yeah, i heard about this already too
John Mayer Performs Raunchy Stand-Up
Despite his recent ups and downs with Jessica Simpson, John Mayer apparently still has his sense of humor: He performed a stand-up comedy gig Saturday night, which was caught on tape and posted on YouTube.
During the performance, at New York City's Comedy Cellar, he pokes fun at single life, his own music – and sings a raunchy ballad as part of a joke about Carrie Underwood's hit "Before He Cheats."

answer: reading about death row inmates, that's how
question: How can you scare the crap out of yourself when you are home alone and not feeling well?
It's all about death row and the death penalty around here today. AZ executed their first death row inmate in 7 years, today at 10am. (read about it here.) After reading about that, I started getting sucked in and reading about the other 100 or so death row inmates we have. The newspaper website has a whole section about it. I got sucked in reading about the crimes. I didn't realize how badly I was freaking myself out until I started hearing sounds in the house. I was really just wind and stuff, but I started to get scared being here alone. I got off the computer, but was still really freaked out. I am better now. I watched some TV to distract myself. Watched some Little People, Big World and some DIY Scrapbooking. I am all better now. Meaning not so freaked out. But my headache (that I woke up with and kept me from work today) seems to finally be on its way out.
and now, a side comment on the death penalty... I am opposed to it, strongly. I am Catholic and part of our religion is to be against killing in any way. Abortion, death penalty and killing in general. I am not a "practicing Catholic," meaning I don't go to church every week. But this belief is one I still hold true. I am pro-life, but I am very understanding of the circumstances that would lead someone to have an abortion. As someone who is having difficultly conceiving, I cry at the thought of someone killing their unborn child, but I get why they consider it. But regarding the death penalty... It makes no sense to me. I understand that crime victims families feel like having the criminal put to death is justice. But how can you, in good conscience, wish death on another human being? To me, that would make you no different than the criminal. They didn't value the life of their victim and took that life. The death penalty is the same thing. Don't you believe that being in prison for the rest of their life is more punishment than death? I guess I have never been in the situation where I would have to make that decision and I hope I never will be, but I cannot support the death penalty. Not just because I am Catholic and supposed to be opposed to it, but because I really truly think killing a person for their actions is just as bad as the actions they committed in the first place. Ok, off the soap box...

Hello New Day
In an attempt to again prove that I enjoy other music other than John Mayer, I share with you my love for The Refreshments... er, The Peacemakers.
It's not really complicated. In 1994, Roger Clyne, Brian Blush, Art "Buddy" Edwards and PH Naffah formed a group in Tempe, AZ called The Refreshments. I loved them! A local band with an amazing and fun sound. They released their first studio album,
Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy in 1996. I saw them in concert that same year. It was, hands down, the funnest show I have ever been too. I was at the perfect age for enjoying their music. It was all about fun. I had (and still have!) a t-shirt with the album cover on the back. I loved wearing that shirt and making people nervous with the chic on the back! It is sad, but The Refreshments didn't last long. They broke up in 1998. I guess they figured since I was leaving town, they shouldn't stick together either. No, I know that's not it. But after the break up, Roger and PH joined together with Danny White and Steve Larson and became RCPM or Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers. Buddy went on to become a writer. Check out his book. I bought it and have a signed copy. It's good. Anyway... the music. Since I did leave AZ in 1998, I never really got into RCPM, but I did get the first album,Honky Tonk Union. Being on the other side of the country, it is hard to keep up with a local band. RCPM was not completely local. Just like The Refreshments, they tour nationwide.
But I was out of the scene and lost track of them. Last year, I was playing Fizzy Fuzzy and decided I needed to get caught up on RCPM. I bought all the albums I had missed and have been listening to them. Well, RCPM released a new album in March. I have not bought it yet, but I will soon. The first song of the new album is called Hello New Day. Love it! You can check out the studio version here. You can also listen to two other tracks, Maybe We Should Fall In Love and Contraband
Also, here is a live version of Hello New Day, from a February show in Tucson (with the lyrics below):
Hello love, hello fear
Hello loneliness, join us all here
Hello funeral and ice-cold beer
Hello new day!
Hello baby teeth, hello grey hair
We try to grow grass now there's weeds everywhere
Hello whale, hello bum, hello just and unfair
Hello new day!
Well I feel lucky, I feel cool
What can I say?
Every time I give away a dollar or two
I find three more on the way
Now for better or worse, the whole Universe
Is singing along with every song I play
Hello new day!
Hello raindrop, hello sea
Hello jungle, leaf on the tree
I thought I was a bigger man, now look at me!
Hello new day!
Hello revolution, hello Che
Hello execution, hello CIA
Hello solution, it's our turn to play
Hello new day!
Well I feel lucky, I feel cool
What can I say?
Every time I give away a dollar or two
I find three more on the way
Now for better or worse, the whole Universe
Is singing along with every song I play
Hello new day!
Hello friends, hello foes
Wounded Knees, Super Bowls
Hello highs, hello lows
Custers and Geronimos!
Hello blessing, hello curse
Hello cradle, hello hearse
Could there be any stranger Universe?
Hello new day!
RCPM still plays Refreshments songs and for that reason, I need to go see them live sometime. I am more a Refreshments fan, but I like RCPM too.
Plus, I have always had a crush on Roger Clyne...
My favorite Refreshments songs...
Down Together:
Suckerpunch:
Una Soda:
Girly:
Mexico:
and just for good measure...
Banditos:
I know, I almost posted the whole first album (with an album #2 track thrown in for good measure), but I love it that much!

i am lucky
I have family that cares about me and is willing to help me when I really need it. I appreciate this more than they will ever know. Knowing that I am loved and can go to my family in my times of need, makes all the chaos alot more bearable. Thank you family. Each of you help me in your own way and I love you all for it.
